Operation Type is a broad description of an operation, shown with a symbol. It groups operation numbers under the same kind of process, for example movement, fabrication or inspection.
In CTS, Operation Type was set on the Process Flow page. In Enterprise CORE, it is a column in the Process Flow and Core View worksheets. When you are not in edit mode, the Operation Type column heading has three small icon buttons. Hover over each one to see its name:
- Operation Type: Diagram View shows the operation symbols linked together as a process flow diagram. When you switch to the Process Flow view outside edit mode, it opens in this view.
- Operation Type: Single Column View shows each row's Operation Type in one column.
- Operation Type: Multi Column View shows a separate column for each Operation Type used in the worksheet, up to 20.
Symbols: Directly in Reusable library and worksheets, you are able to add symbols to your operation types as you edit your sheet. Currently there is a pre-selected list of symbols, users cannot add their own custom symbols.
