A Part is a key component within the FMEA system hierarchy, located under a Program.
In manufacturing, parts represent real-world components or assemblies used in products or processes. Each part captures relevant information, such as specifications, revisions, and associated worksheets to support risk analysis, traceability, and streamlined management of components throughout the FMEA lifecycle.
Each Part requires a “Part Name” and “Part Number.” The remaining fields are optional (see Search Tags & Notes for more information). Within a Part, users can restrict access to its child components, update its details, and view any associated revisions or Workbooks.
Note: It is highly recommended that users leverage the Part Aliases field within the Details section for improved organization and management (see Part Aliases for more information).
