When editing a customized Template in Forms - Core View & DFMEA, a new column header can be created by simply clicking on the menu button of any existing column. Within the menu options, "Insert New" will be available.
By clicking on the "Insert New" option, a new column with the default name "New Column" will be created and displayed.
To rename the new column, choose where it appears or move it, open its three-dot menu and select Settings:
- Display tab: change the Header Display Text for each language.
- Properties tab (Core View templates): under Display in, select Process Flow, PFMEA and/or Control Plan.
- Arrangement tab: drag the header cells under Review (Drag to Reorder) to change the column order. For columns you created, use Parent Column to move the column into a different section (parent header).
Click Confirm to apply your changes.
Column menu (three-dot menu) options: Copy & Insert, Insert New, Add Child Column, Delete, Hide Column (or Show Column) and Settings. There is no Move option. To move a column, use Settings > Arrangement.
Where you can and can't insert a column
- In Core View templates, the Template Editor shows the Core View first, under Customize, and the individual worksheets, such as the PFMEA, under Re-arrange columns. Insert New, Copy & Insert, Add Child Column, Delete and Hide Column only work in the Core View. In the worksheets under Re-arrange columns, you can only reorder columns.
- To add a column next to a PFMEA column such as 2b: insert it in the Core View and, under Settings > Properties, select PFMEA under Display in. On the Arrangement tab, set Parent Column to the section that contains 2b, then drag the column beside 2b under Review (Drag to Reorder).
- Only columns you created can be copied, deleted or given a new Parent Column. Standard columns, such as Special Characteristics, can only be reordered within their own section. They can't be moved into another section.
- Child columns can only be added under section (band) columns or under columns you created.
- A hidden column must be shown again before you can insert a column next to it.
