How do I select all rows, fill down, copy rows or clear a worksheet?

In Edit Mode you can select many rows and delete, duplicate or move them in one action. Here is how to handle the most common bulk tasks.

Select rows, including all rows

  1. Open the worksheet and click Edit. A checkbox appears at the left of each row.
  2. Click the checkbox of the first row.
  3. Hold Shift and click the checkbox of another row to select every row in between. Hold Ctrl and click to add or remove single rows.
  4. The toolbar shows Selected Rows: with the count and icon buttons for Delete (trash can), Duplicate (copy) and Move to... (arrows). Hover over an icon to see its name. In the Reusable Library, Apply Tags in Bulk is also available.

There is no single Select All option. To select every row, click the first row's checkbox, scroll to the end of the worksheet and Shift-click the last row. Click Unselect All to clear the selection.

Fill one value down a column

To speed up entry:

  • Values already entered in a column appear as options in the other cells of that column, so you can select them instead of retyping.
  • To change a value everywhere it appears, use Find & Replace (see Can I Find & Replace data in my Worksheet?).
  • Duplicate a row that already has the value, then edit its other cells.

Copy rows to another worksheet

Currently you cannot copy and past rows from one worksheet to another, Until then, you can:

  • Ask an administrator to add the content to the Reusable Library, then insert it into any worksheet with Add Reusable Records.
  • You can export a worksheet in whichever view you desire, go to the target worksheet, import the previous worksheet, then find and select the target rows you'd like to import.

Clear a worksheet (for example after duplicating a workbook)

  1. Click Edit and select all rows as described above.
  2. Click the Delete (trash can) icon in the selection toolbar. Saved rows are labeled Deleted. New rows are removed after you confirm.
  3. Click Save.

Before saving, you can bring a row back with Restore in its three-dot menu, or discard all unsaved changes with the red X in the edit bar.
